Historic Preservation Construction Management & IS Systems Sustainable Building

The Construction Management program, prompted by the growing interest in “green” building among students and the construction industry, has become a national leader in developing curricula and research work in sustainable issues in the built environment.  Students in the Sustainable Building emphasis often have backgrounds in construction, architecture, interior design, engineering and natural resources.Students will study the concepts behind green, high performance buildings while being encouraged to explore individual research interests related to environmentally and culturally sensitive, energy efficient construction.  Graduate students in the Sustainable Building emphasis also have the opportunity to interact with The Institute for the Built Environment, a leading research group based in the Construction Management Department, which brings together professionals and students from the related fields of design and construction to collaborate on sustainable building projects.
