WHAT
A program designed to provide the prerequisite knowledge needed for graduate education in construction management.
WHY
To provide the conceptual knowledge obtained from the undergraduate experience. This program is designed for students wishing to enter the Master of Science in Construction Management program at Colorado State University who do not have their undergraduate degree in construction management or a related field.
WHERE
Colorado State University, located in Fort Collins, Colorado, is approximately 65 miles north of Denver. At the foot of the Rocky Mountains, it is within an hour’s drive of Estes Park, Rocky Mountain National Park, and Roosevelt National Forest.
WHO NEEDS THIS PROGRAM?
Students wishing to apply to the Master of Science program in Construction Management at Colorado State University, who have an undergraduate degree in an unrelated field, are required to take this program or the corresponding undergraduate courses.
PROGRAM DESIGN
This program covers the following topics:
- Construction Materials and Methods (Summer)
- Construction Engineering (Summer)
- Mechanical and Plumbing Systems (Summer)
- Plan Reading, Estimating and Scheduling (Fall)
These courses are all non-credit courses.
FACULTY
Colorado State University faculty and experts from the construction industry will conduct the classes. Guest speakers will also bring the breadth and depth of their professional experience to the classroom.
CLASS SCHEDULE
- Summer courses will meet Monday through Thursday, 5:30 – 9:00 p.m.
- The Fall Plan Reading, Estimating and Scheduling Course will meet on Thursdays from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. in 226 Guggenheim Hall (beginning August 27, 2008).
- Students admitted to the CM Master of Science program may also be required to enroll in CON 367 – Construction Contracts and Project Administration. This is an undergraduate three-credit course through the regular registration process for admitted students. Please log in to RamPoint to view offerings for this course for the Fall 2008 semester.

CLASS LOCATION
