Purpose
To provide an opportunity for graduate students conducting original scientific investigations to present their work at a national or international conference and to receive recognition for their achievement. The funding will be available for students publishing a full paper and working with a CM faculty.

Nomination
Up to three students may be awarded every year. The student must be nominated by a CM faculty member. Nominations will be accepted on a continual basis until all three awards have been given.

Preparation
1. The student must be presenting an original applied research project he or she has conducted.
2. Emphasis on applied research in construction
3. The paper must be co-authored with a construction management faculty member.
4. The following documents need to be submitted to Dr. Mostafa Khattab: - Faculty nomination letter
- Paper abstract. The final draft of the paper and presentation must be submitted before departing to the conference.
- Conference acceptance letter

Selection
1. All papers and presentations submitted will be evaluated by the CM Department.
2. All nominees and sponsors will be notified of the paper selections by e-mail.
3. The overall winner will receive a $ 500.00 scholarship to assist in covering travel expenses.

Evaluation
40 points = Originality; creativity; background
60 points = Clearly stated purpose and procedures; quality and clarity of results and conclusion
